The last of the Middle Class Tax Refund payments will be going out by January 14, which is the final cut off for the program.

The California Franchise Tax Board said it expected about 90% of direct deposits to be issued in October and 95% of all MCTR payments — direct deposit and debit cards — by the end of the year. According to their website, the final payout period ends January 14.

As of Dec. 9, more than 25.7 million California taxpayers and their dependents have benefited, according to the Franchise Tax Board. The state has issued more than 6.9 million direct deposit payments and 6.8 million debit cards worth more than $7.5 billion.

Anyone who needs support getting with the payment can use the following resources. Customer support is available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Vietnamese, Korean, and Punjabi. Other languages may be supported by request.

The state has a $25 billion deficit. Fully ONE THIRD of it is right there!

Note that this is called a "Middle Class Tax Refund" but, as the title correctly says, these are "inflation relief payments."

The abject STUPIDITY of government and the governed is just unbelievable. If giving people money to relieve inflation woes actually worked, then why not just keep doing it over and over and over again? Might it have an inflationary effect? Nah, no way.
