When I left the military in 1995 I went to work for Walmart. When we got past the calendar year in ‘95, we had our once a week morning store meeting and we were informed that we were the cause of the failure of sales during the year. We didn’t do our job well enough and we had better get on the sick or we would be taken off the schedule.

In that year company sales climbed 22 percent to $82.5 billion from $67.3 billion. The fourth quarter was particularly noteworthy since it marked the first time a retailer had earned $1 billion in a three-month reporting period, as well as the 96th consecutive quarter of improved profits since the company went public in 1970.

As for our competitors, without two of the three closest major competitors in the mix, it would have taken 3 companies plus to get close to Walmart’s 1995 sales.

Home Depot was on the list of sales competitors but was not one of the top three. This is one of the reasons that trying to get major companies to actually pay for a qualified sales force and just establish stockers and then complain they are the problem with sales, does shine a light on the lack of intelligence with the billionaires that used those stockers to get them their big bucks while they blamed them for not being contributory to handing the rich their lifestyle. I see it here again. Rich people don’t want money, they want more money.

Greedy employers do that with everyone...Keep threatening them to work harder for less or else, while blaming them for everything.
