NEW California laws on abortion, jaywalking, rap lyrics

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Cheaper abortions, raises for some workers and grace for jaywalkers and loiterers are some of the hundreds of new laws that take effect in California next year.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed 997 new laws in 2022 and many of them take effect on Jan. 1 while some go into effect later in the year.

Here’s a look at some of them.

CHEAPER ABORTIONS

Private insurance companies can’t charge people co-pays or deductibles for abortions anymore. That will save an average of $543 for a medication abortion and $887 for a procedural abortion, according to an analysis by the California Health Benefits Review Program. Lawmakers also did the same thing for vasectomies, but that law won’t take effect until 2024.

HIGHER PAY

California’s minimum wage will jump to $15.50 per hour. That will mean raises for about 3 million workers who earn minimum wage. The increase was triggered by inflation, as required by a law passed in 2016.

GRACE FOR PEDESTRIANS

Jaywalking and loitering will be enforced differently in 2023. Police officers won’t be able to ticket people for crossing the street outside of an intersection — unless they are in immediate danger of getting hit by a car. Likewise, police won’t be able to ticket people for loitering for the purpose of prostitution.

HAVEN FOR TRANSGENDER KIDS

A new law will try to stop other states from punishing children who come to California for transgender surgeries and other gender-affirming care. The law will block out-of-state subpoenas and stop health providers from sharing information with out-of-state entities related to gender affirming care, defined as “medically necessary health care that respects the gender identity of the patient, as experienced and defined by the patient.” That includes hormone therapy to suppress secondary sex characteristics.

So two years ago the law changed for minors who are in the act of prostitution, that they will no longer be charged. Now the loitering law is changed making it easier for minor prostitutes to have sex. Brick by Brick, the Left is getting us closer to legalized pedophilia. That is their goal.

Obviously it’s not saving any money unless the providers are taking a pay cut. It just means that now the total cost will be prepaid and spread amongst all the insured through higher premiums, whether they like it or not.

“NEW California laws on abortion, jaywalking, rap lyrics “

Translated...

CHEAPER ABORTIONS (more baby killings)
HIGHER PAY (less pay, particularly in the food service business)
GRACE FOR PEDESTRIANS (I’m cool with this one as I once got a ticket for J-Walking in California)
HAVEN FOR TRANSGENDER KIDS (pedophile bill of rights)
CYBER FLASHING LAWSUITS (welfare for lawyers)
MORE HOUSING (more slums)
EARLY RELEASE FOR CRITICALLY ILL INMATES (more fake “I’m dying” claims)
DISRUPTIVE MEETINGS (end of disagreeing with our masters)
PROTECTED RAP LYRICS (more women will be called “hoes”)
NO MORE ‘PINK TAX’ (a new man-tax)
NEW STATE HOLIDAYS (even less work expected for state employees)
MORE TIME TO GRIEVE (more people ‘dying’)
SALARY DISCLOSURE (more overpaid, non-productive, employees)
OIL DRILLING (add another $5 to gasoline prices)

You know what this means. You can go to Earl Schibes and get your car painted for $99.95 with an abortion on the side for $39.95, just North of the Miracle Mile at the intersection of Wiltshire and S.La Brea.

“So two years ago the law changed for minors who are in the act of prostitution, that they will no longer be charged.”

The problem was that young girls who had been reported kidnapped and who were being trafficked by pimps were getting arrested for prostitution and then released right back to the pimps.

Now the law in California requires these girls to be handed over to social services and reunited with their parents...but in no case will they be handed back to non-custodial adults.

It’s a good law and one I supported on Free Republic.

That's not what the rap lyrics law is about. The law is because it has become common for black criminals to make "diss tracks", sometimes even music videos, where they confess to murdering other criminals and gloat about it. The law is to shield them from these videos being used as evidence against them in court.

For example, this video has been up for over a year and has 40 million views. The three people named were all murder victims.

According to Federal law they can’t posses firearms either and it isn’t possible for illegal aliens to make a lawful arrest. California is completely lawless in cases nobody has noticed. I

Or, insurance simply drops the reimbursement rate and then "doctors" stop accepting insurance coverage on an abortion. Cash up-front only.
