I’m thinking that this guy had the “I’ll show the world how smart I am by committing the perfect crime” delusion.

I’m getting a Mark Twitchell vibe from this guy. Twitchell is the Canadian film maker killer who was inspired by Dexter and was writing a roman a clef screenplay about his crime. The Idaho killer guy is doing research on decision-making during the commission of a crime, so he’s making himself a subject in his research.

“Perfect crime”
A few years ago we had a PHD student at the University of Illinois who figured out he would never make it big in his field and decided to do the “Perfect Crime”. He picked up a Chinese student newly in the country, sliced her up and put her in the garbage. It was hard to find him until he mentioned his activity to a girl friend. They sent him away for life.
