Cases may be “skyrocketing” in China, but worldwide they have actually declined in the past two weeks. Even before the recent decline, cases were well below what they were in August. Deaths have remained stable for weeks, also below the levels from last August.

Not in NJ. We are seeing daily confirmed COVID deaths almost double in the last few weeks. We average about 20 per day now when a short time ago it was about 8-9. Not sure of the reasons but something has changed recently. Also seeing weird behavior in the transmission rate which typically would spike well over 1.00 during waves and then drop down to the .60’s between. Now it rarely goes below .90 and then spikes back over 1.00 every couple weeks. Very strange.
