There was no need to lockdown in the first place, and there is no need to lockdown now or ever for Covid... Covid is a mild irritant with a 99+% survival rate. When a ‘real’ pandemic comes, we are screwed and lockdowns won’t work, just like they didn’t work for Covid... And that’s why China is experiencing this uptick in Covid... Because of their stupid zero tolerance policies.
Eventually there will be a pandemic that kills hundreds of millions of people, because these pandemics have been with us forever in one form or another... I hope I’m not around when that happens but when it does, destroying the freedoms that our forefathers fought for is not going to make that pandemic disappear.
If you’ve ever watched a movie about pandemics... They separate the sick from the healthy... They don’t lockdown the healthy and sick together with each other, like many countries did when Covid was bandied about as the next Spanish flu. When it comes to pandemics, you need to let them run their course so that they end sooner rather than later. The initial efforts to prevent Covid have actually prolonged it... If that isn’t obvious by now, then you haven’t been paying attention.
The Spanish flu lasted about 2 years and killed upwards of 100 million, mostly because it killed healthy people. If it had only killed the the very old and very sick, it would likely have been much shorter than that.
Checking passengers for Covid isn’t going to help at all, just like it didn’t help to begin with.
