Due to the incoming warm, heavy rain expected to reach the area these next couple of weeks, US Forest Service officials in the Klamath National Forest are warning locals to be prepared for the worst.
Officials said there will be a heightened risk of flooding, landslides, and debris flow due to the incoming weather. The USFS expects creeks flowing out of recent fire areas to be the first to run turbid.

Or due to flood preventing dams being tore down on the Klamath River ?
Or due to flood preventing dams being tore down on the Klamath River ?
I think they only managed to yank one dam out, towards the end of the river where it dumps into the ocean.
I drove through there last night, down US97 from the Columbia to SF bay. Nonstop rain(heavy, heavy torrents) from Chumash, OR to Corning, CA, something like 300-400 miles.
On this one, I’ll agree it is the rain.
Due to rain, calif is in an atmospheric river of moisture for the next two weeks.
Whatever. As a wise man said one time “Can’t we just all get along?” God is shedding His grace on the natural environment of California. It’s innocent.
You probably hate salmon and Indians too!

I could live on smoked salmon.

.
Grace in deed.
Unmerited favor.
We so need every inch of this rain.
I just wish we wouldn’t piss that grace away by tearing out dams.
So no, I can’t ‘ just get along” with commie dirt cultists that don’t care about the loss of life and property due to increased flooding due to ripping out flood control infrastructure .

Not so sure how smart Rodney King was.
He was not wrong.

Dang it, I was gonna post that! ;’)
Well, Even if it’s the rain.
California should build few dams!
They save the water, generate electricity and help recreation!
CA always complain about drought and global warming, let it build some dams and problem would be solved!
They’re taking 4 more out, soon...
They haven’t started tearing them down yet.
Oh I know next system will be colder more snow
Are you sure you don't mean Chemult, OR? That's on US 97, south of Crescent, OR.
The Chumash tribe lives along the southern California coast.

There has been at least one removed a while ago.
Chiloquin Dam on the Sprague river, which is a tributary of the klamath was removed in 2008.
Seems like there have been more, but the Google gatekeeper stymied me from finding them.
