Unconstitutional, not that it matters anymore.

This bill is about the ‘Rats grafting tax money under color of law to give to their friends in the educrat lobby.

Do we have a growing need?
Sure there’s a lot of burnouts, churn, and retiring teachers.
But if a district has fewer kids enrolled, why is there a need for more teachers?
FWIW, I’d like to see publik skrewl abolished.

A bill in Congress would increase starting teacher pay to $60K. Western Pa. districts think that could be problematic. I know (HOPE) there are good teachers out there, but my feeling is that most (90%) are leftist libs and the dems want to reward and encourage their continued indoctrination of the youth. Pay raises certainly can't be justified otherwise, given the general ignorance and stupidity levels that are being churned out!

You have a valid argument.
Once upon a time, public schools served a very useful function of training our children to be functioning adults in a unified society.
That no longer seems to be the case. A voucher system could and should replace it. Public school systems which are still doing their jobs would be able to compete and survive just as they do in every other first world country where parents have a real choice of alternatives.

So much BS and posturing goes on. With the adjournment of the 117th Congress and the convening of the 118th Congress next week, the bill is dead

The aides, janitors, secretaries, etc... are also going to want a raise, and the school falls apart without support staff.
So now your school's labor costs have jumped up 20% overnight and you have four years to figure out how to tell the public their school taxes are going to go up,
School nurses around here are starting around $60 a year. To get a difficult degree, not some easy-As one. So are they getting bumped up to ~$90M? >
40 to 60 is a 50% increase, not 20%. And I would assume the rest of the staff would be expecting about the same increase (or they start quitting). And labor cost are close to 80% of school cost, so expect your taxes to go up 40% or so!

when I think of the ridiculously easy courses some of these degrees require and then to pay these people that kind of money....and btw they routinely get over $100,000 a year where I live....
oh good news though....the teachers are going to get more tax credit for all the "supplies" they buy.....right....
