It is imperative, absolutely imperative that Kevin McCarthy be defeated.

1. The Republicans won’t hand the house over to a Democrat. That’s a scare tactic used by McCarthy supporters.

2. Once McCarthy is defeated, another Republican will step forward. It would be foolish for a viable candidate to run for Speaker while McCarthy is still in the picture.

3. The next Speaker will be a moderate. Conservatives don’t have the numbers to get elected.

Steve Scalise the most likely able to unite everyone but he wont go for it as you say if McCarthy is still in the picture and that’s if he wants it.

There aren’t many others I can think of....
