Under pressure from the Biden administration, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is halting construction of a wall fashioned from shipping containers at the U.S.-Mexico border. The Republican governor reached a settlement with the Department of Justice in which Arizona agreed to stop construction of the border wall on national forest lands, according to court documents filed with the U.S. District Court in Phoenix Thursday. The agreement stipulates that Arizona will remove all previously installed shipping containers and associated equipment, materials, vehicles and other objects in the U.S. Border Patrol Yuma Sector, without damaging U.S. natural resources. To do so, Arizona will work in conjunction with officials from the U.S. Forest Service and Customs and Border Protection. The agreement was reached one week after the Biden administration filed a lawsuit against Ducey on behalf of the Bureau of Reclamation, the Department of Agriculture and the Forest Service.

They can ignore Fed/State laws at will, but the slightest push makes any “GOP” placeholders crumble like a paper cup.

Note that the State of AZ has only agreed to remove the portion of the wall built on Federal land.
Not sure why anyone would assume AZ, or any other state, would have the right to build anything on Federal land. Good on Ducey for doing it in the first place, but it was never something that was going to be permanent.
Ducey is just living up to the GOP motto: “We’re cheap suits and we fold like lawn chairs!”
I don’t understand. What’s the worst that could happen with such a ridiculous lawsuit? Is Biden going to jail the Governor? Disappointment here.

I said from the beginning, and got called a bunch of names, that this would fail. That it was unconstitutional.
Now, if the guy was serious, he would get a map on the wall, and declare a 100 foot “easement” along the entire fed land adjacent to the border.

Yep, I have absolutely totally had it with the GOP. Anyone thinks they are going to do anything starting in January is dreaming. I was really hoping Trump would announce the formation of a new party but I guess its not to be. Our government is under enemy occupation as far as I’m concerned and unless a new party is formed to TRULY fight these bastards, the country is lost.

Federal land is managed under a trust for the people.
Therefore it is the people of AZ who are to control it within the state.
Take that management away from the federal government and turn it to the states.
