While Brittney Griner enjoys being home in the U.S. after a much-publicized prison stay in Russia, another American with a similar case continues to be imprisoned.
Marc Fogel, who, like Griner, attempted to enter Russia with a small quantity of marijuana, has been jailed by Moscow officials for nearly a year and a half.
Griner, who was detained in Russia in February 2022, returned to the U.S. two weeks ago after the Biden administration secured her release in a high-profile prisoner swap.

Russia has been consistent with enforcement in these matters.
The US State position has been arrogant, things in Russia should be done like in the US.
Earnest Diplomatic efforts to find acceptable, authorized medical preparations legal for use in Russia, would have solved the problem for those with legitimate medical conditions.
Coupled with non political education of Russian law for travelers to Russia.
I believe Arrogance fits the behavior.
I expect that the Russians, like American Sports Enthusiasts, have a variety of personal reasons for their interest.

That ordinary Russians have some discretionary spending income for sports events is a positive sign, just like America.
However Fogel's claim that he didn't know about Russian Law is very weak at best.

biden has no interest in freeing someone named “Marc.” He worked hard to get a highly-privileged individual freed because of her three get out of jail cards.
No one named “Marc” has any of those cards.
