We can go 1 of 2 ways. All of us betrayed Republicans could join the Democrat party. I think we would have better chance of pulling the Democrat party to right than what we are doing now. Or form a new America First (AF) Party.

That’s what I would advocate. They did it to the GOP, now it’s time to return the favor.

I just can’t see the idea of joining the Democrats. How many decades would it take to pull that party to the right to any appreciable degree? For example, not one single Democrat in the House or the Senate voted for Trump’s tax cuts. Not one voted to repeal Obamacare.

You suggest a good name for a new party: the America First Party.

Let me add: A new party might succeed on its own, the way the Republican Party did.

Alternatively, it might be the best way to reform the GOP. Since the Civil War, the only time a third party didn’t come in third or worse was 1912. The Bull Moose Party had a former President (Theodore Roosevelt) who had wide support. When the Republican Party bosses blocked his nomination, he ran anyway, and relegated the GOP nominee (Taft) to third place. The result was that the Republican Party moved in his direction. In 1916 they nominated someone Roosevelt liked, so he endorsed the Republican instead of running again.
