Well I have a couple 100 chickens and sell clean washed, packaged eggs and you would be surprised people will not buy them and prefer to pay high grocery store prices and my prices are cheaper than the store’s..I have a road side setup and had two women just last week stop and one woman said she didn’t buy anything that wasn’t from the Store..
Most people understand that food is grown and packaged in the back of grocery stores, so when nutters come along and offer the same at lower prices who knows what the produce really is - maybe it came out of a grocery store dumpster.
This has been going on for decades in the US. Back in the 30s when the bridge to Key West, Florida was completed, people refused to buy fresh produce because every one knew it was grown in cans.
As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does."
If you were remotely close to me, I would happily buy.
Every so often a good fellow around here brings eggs from his chickens.
They are excellent.
Our nearest (country) neighbor has chickens and their eggs are wonderful.
They just aren’t hungry enough for eggs, yet.
