Electric car manufacturer Tesla’s stock value is below $150, making it the lowest stock value since CEO Elon Musk took over Twitter in October.
Just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, the stock was trading at $140.34, the lowest the price has been since November 2020.
Shares opened up on Monday just below $150 a share, with hopes from investors that Mr. Musk would step down as CEO of Twitter after a public poll on the site had the majority of users calling for him to step down.
Mr. Musk has made no mention of when he will step down. He had said when the poll was posted that he’d abide by result, but hasn’t explicitly said he would since the poll closed.
While Tesla’s downturn mirrors somewhat of a bear market for many industries, it is likely no coincidence that the dramatic drop in Tesla’s stock price comes during Mr. Musk’s troubles at Twitter.
Analysts say the stock dip isn’t about Tesla itself, though controversies surrounding its self-driving car technology are lingering, but about Mr. Musk’s decisions at Twitter having damaged the company’s brand image.

“Good to see the Brain implant/China/DeSantis shill is losing some of his hype.”
Are you from DU?
Let’s put this in context, how’s the rest of the market doing?
It’s good that he’s pushing Twitter to the right but the guy is not a conservative. He has explicitly said he’s a “centrist” who voted for Biden and wants Trump to go away forever.
He’s a China shill who doesn’t like Trump’s tough stance against them.
The whole market is down. Especially technology/ev stocks.
Can all the FBI agents working at Twitter get unemployment benefits after being fired from Twitter? I mean I’m sure by now they count on two paychecks to pay for a two paycheck lifestyle.
Musk Torches Wokeness: ‘One Of The Biggest Threats To Modern Civilization,’ Is ‘Divisive, Hateful’
Might be a good time to buy
“It’s good that he’s pushing Twitter to the right but the guy is not a conservative. He has explicitly said he’s a “centrist” who voted for Biden and wants Trump to go away forever.”
He is anti-union
He is anti-wokeness
Je is anti-democrat
He is pro DeSantis.
Why I like him and you hate him.
They have a number of videos cutting through the hype around Elon Musk.
” and wants Trump to go away forever.”
He reinstated Trump on Twitter.
Trump replied that Musk is a good man.
That is what I was thinking too. The NASDAQ is down 33% for the YTD. That explains half of it right there.
Once Twitter is completely paid off and Elon can keep the remainder of his shares, then Tesla will follow the rest of the tech market.
If you have ever responded to and won a contract or lost in the process, you know how thorough and complex the solicitation for bid gets.
A lot of stocks are down 30% over the Biden era.
He said Trump could be on Twitter again but he has repeatedly said Trump should retire and let DeSantis be the GOP nominee.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said Monday that he thinks former President Donald Trump should, “hang up his hat & sail into the sunset.”
Writing on Twitter, where Musk has more than 100 million followers, the celebrity CEO said: “I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset. Dems should also call off the attack – don’t make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the Presidency.”

Weird huh? You'd think we just might be in a recession.
The two are different issues. Tesla had peaked because ALL EV’s have peaked.
There is not enough Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel or Rare Earths to scale up production anymore. Without Russia and without Cheap oil there is no way to build out the supply chains.
And, there are not enough child slave miners in Africa to pull it off.

Apple, META etc., all doing badly. The fundamentals are stronger with Tesla, yet the media focuses on Tesla stock prices. I guess Elon is more interesting than Cook, Zuckerberg, etc.
