A 17-year-old boy in Ozark, Missouri, is being charged as adult for the murder of a 16-year-old girl to whom he allegedly provided a fentanyl-laced pill, leading to her at-home overdose death in September.

He was charged more than three months after Jones’ untimely death and released on $50,000 bond.

Now, Jones’ mother in sounding off on social media, accusing Sayre of letting her daughter die. Sayre is on house arrest under electronic monitoring and is expected back in court on Jan. 31, 2023.

Victoria Jones, 16, died of a fatal overdose. Her 17-year-old alleged supplier of a fentanyl-laced pill is facing a murder charge.

The two teens reportedly first got acquainted at church while in the 10th grade.

"I think it is beyond pathetic that a person she meets at Church, of all places, is the one who gave her the drugs that killed her. They were NOT friends at all, Let me say that Again, they Were NOT friends," Jones’ mother, Wendie Glass Jones, wrote. The post was reshared by family friend, Dedi Ekstrom Sampson, to Facebook on Saturday.

"This person, Jacob Sayre, has had DRUG issues since he was 14 and his parents really didn't do anything until he was 16 (beginning of 2022) and out of control," Jones’ mother wrote. "Sept. 4th my daughter was dead because of what he gave her. Ecstasy laced with a deadly amount of Fentanyl was what he gave her. He made NO ATTEMPT to help her when she called him.....Didn't alert us, didn't call 911, didn't do anything, He Let Her Die! I sincerely Hope and pray that there is a special place in Hell for people that are this Evil!"

Jones was reportedly a straight-A student and was on the high school softball team.

Kid did not necessarily have any idea there was Fentanyl in the pills. Doesn’t make it right, but does mean it was not homicide.

Manslaughter or reckless homicide, maybe, but I would assume she didnt have that pill rammed down her throat and she was partially culpable for her stupid decision to take drugs.

They were both dumbassed teens making poor choices.

He should death-penaltied, as well as whoever he got the pills from, and up the chain. If the Feds refuse to stop the flow, local communities have to stop the suppliers.

From Church to Fentanyl. In the Ozarks too. Not like it’s the north side of Phili. How are you going to protect your kids?

Doesn't matter. Unless he got the drug from a licensed pharmacist who explained to him *exactly* what it was he's fully responsible. Same thing with speeding...as you do so you must consider the possibility that you will cause an accident involving a bus in which a dozen handicapped kids will die.

Sounds as if she accepted the pill and voluntarily sampled it.

A lot of kids experiment growing up; most get through it and move on. That being said...

No...not always...not at certain ages. A 10 year old boy who finds his Dad’s gun and, either not knowing it was real or not fully understanding what guns can do,kills his little brother/sister isn’t nearly the same as this punk.

Unless it was your kid who took the pill, of course.

The real murderers are the scum in DC. These ba$tards are responsible for murdering hundreds of innocent Americans a day by allowing this poison to flood into the country. Both of these kids are victims of our DC overlords.

Ugh - what is it with the horrible writing in journalism these days.

Name the kid first, THEN you can use just the last name in reference to his crimes. It starts with “17 year old boyfriend” then “he” then “Sayre let her die”

Who’s Sayre?! Oh then they go onto name him officially.

And yeah, death penalty and civil restitution in the millions from his parents seems fair.

Concur, but there is just a little more to the story:

“He made NO ATTEMPT to help her when she called him.....Didn’t alert us, didn’t call 911, didn’t do anything, He Let Her Die! I sincerely Hope and pray that there is a special place in Hell for people that are this Evil!””

Yeah, the drug cartels are shipping in Fentanyl in small packages, and then it is blended with other drugs - very poorly - by local distributors. Then they shape it into the form of well-known prescription drugs, and move it through the black market.

So of the 71,000 Fentanyl deaths in the US in 2021, only a small minority of victims had any idea that the pill had Fentanyl in it. Most thought they were taking a Xanax or something.

I am not his lawyer. But you’re also not the prosecutor. You were not there, and have no idea of the facts beyond was a grieving mother is saying in the press. We have courts of law that hear both sides of complex, and sometimes tragic, situations.
