Ukraine wields US-supplied offensive arms against Russia – for the first time
Monday, Dec. 19 saw the first Ukrainian strikes inside Russia with advanced US missiles that President Joe Biden promised the Ukraine leader a week earlier. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the Ukrainians used their fresh supplies of AGM-88 Harm missiles to strike power and water supply plants in the Russian town of Belgorod in retaliation for Moscow’s unceasing Iranian-made drone assaults on its vital facilities including power – in a bid to freeze Ukraine into submission.
The American AGM-88 is a high-speed anti-radiation missile designed to disarm the radar systems of antiair weapons. Powered with solid fuel, it can reach a speed of Mach 2 without generating smoke, which makes it hard for the targeted victims to detect in time to ward off its strike.
Our sources note that this missile attack was timed for Monday to coincide with an important summit President Vladimir Putin held with his Belarus ally, , Alexander Lukashenko. The first use of an American offensive weapon on targets inside Russia is expected in military circles to raise the stakes of the Ukraine conflict. Putin may decide to expand his campaign to crush Ukrainian resistance even to the point of taking his war across the border into its NATO neighbors, especially those keeping Kyev supplied with military equipment.
They tend to put out "insider scoops" right after interesting military events happen, before the chains of command involved have time to digest what has happened. Then their "sources" get all the important details suspiciously wrong in ways that sound good to those who don't know, and show they are making it up to those who know better. Since they are making it up, they will not get criminally investigated or prosecuted for it.
Ukrainian MiG's do not fly close enough to the Russian border to fire HARMs at Belgorod. HARMs are anti-radar only and can't target buildings like JDAMS or laser guided bombs. Those are details real "sources" would never get wrong because they are already common knowledge.
Once you catch on to their brand of click-bait war-porn, you will understand why its best to ignore them.
Idiots. Ukraine is dragging us into WWIII. And idiots cheer.
Enjoy your last days.
Yes! And we are going to continue to support Ukraine until the last Ukrainian is dead!
DEBKA please find a real source. These clowns are on par with the weekly world news.
Story is non-sensical. The AGM-88 is air-to-surface, and last I heard the Ukrainians weren’t fielding many US-made fighters.
If we wanted the Ukes to have deep-strike capability we’d give them some variant of the UGM-109 TLAM or MGM-140 ATACMS.
This thing goes back to conflicts between:
a) Bill Clinton and Al Gore trying to impress Putin with foreign investment but not geting far, and
b) Putin appearing to be both cautious and unhappy about having to deal with those two characters in combination with NATO infirmaties.
Investment organizations being:
- Fund for Large Enterprises in Russia (FLER or FLEER)
- Russian-American Enterprise Fund (RAEF)
- U.S. Russia Investment Fund (TUSRIF)
The net of that, being a brief era of opportunity *in Russia,* for boosting corruption, kleptocracy, and an economic system of oligarchs. Much of which has disappeared from the news online (bad URL’s for bygone years), being replaced by Al Gore’s ever-current climate smoke screen: the green agenda (and race hustling “criteria”).
A time frame in which, early on, NATO bombed Serbia - an indelicate way of getting Russian attention.
Next, over 1 decade later, Obama assigns Biden the Ukraine, and Biden tries to prove that Biden is some kind of hardnosed made man.
Followed by a momentary gap of half-time activities, Trump, followed by Biden and Blinken.
Followed by Putin pounding his shoe on the table.
(Does anyone remember Russia has nukes? Hello? Bueller? Bueller?)
You rang? ☺️
Yes, World War IV is going to accomplish this Great Reset.
With some Population Reduction.
✝️🙏🛐
Yeah I thought that odd as well
AGM-88 also homes in on radar, so how this missile would be used to strike power and water supply plants is questionable. Belgorod is only 25 miles from the Ukrainian border, well within range of artillery.
There are 44 million Ukrainians.
Well, he got some nice footage.....
Wish I could say you’re incorrect

Debka? Really?
maybe in a lab bench, their servo motors put out more rf than a motor 10 miles away, just because they can detect it, these are designed to throw out junk data by design
Retarded Russian Propaganda, they must think they disarm these systems indirectly....what ignorant writers.
Entertaining stories though.
Harm missiles don't emit radar. Harms home in on emitted radar from a target ground radar and more specifically, the radar bands used by antiair systems. No ground based radar targeting courtesy of Harm missiles means no targeting by said antiair system.
Harm is not a ground attack system unless it's a radar transmitter. Harm does though, and very well, clear an effective path for air to ground attack. An antiair ground system without its ground targeting radar is little more than an inert target for air to ground destruction.
Air dominance 101.
Duh…
“So do we Snowflake. RuZZia is not going to commit nuclear suicide for Putler Folly.”

“ZZ”’s in Russia always indicates a child-mentality behind a keyboard. Only other childlike persons would take you seriously. And then you back it up with more childish gibberish with word’s like “Putler.”
Hilarious though, if that’s what you’re going for.
This means Americans were present in the Ukraine to operate these weapons
—
US made HARM missiles were successfully mated with MiGs by Ukrainians - no US personnel needed. MiGs are flown by Ukrainian pilots.
Does anyone remember that Debka has never published an accurate article?
The warhead is 150 pounds blast‐fragmentation and could be used against soft targets.
IMHO, using a HARM missile in an A/G role is a waste of a valuable resource.
