When a Representative leaves the House the jurisdiction of the Ethics Committee ends. (See L. Patrick Grey, III, Anthony David Weiner, etc., etc. ad nauseum.)

So, filing an ethics complaint against Liz Cheney right now would be largely symbolic, yet richly deserved and highly recommended.

When she leaves the House on January 3rd, 2023 she will no longer be immune to Congressional subpoena. I would recommend subpoenas for all of her communications with anyone for the 2 years prior to January 6 2021 and for the period of January 6 2021 to January 3 2023. I would repeat that for every member of the J6 committee.

Then sequester every document, every device, every phone, every electronic or paper record of the J 6 committee, including furniture and that large screen display used in the hearings. Scour every single bit of activity of the Committee and its staff and publish all of it on the internet. Subpoena all security video from January 5th - rumored to be 8,700 hours (in excess of ~350 cameras) - publish that on the internet.

I'm just getting started.

The Republicans need to use the House majority status in the same way that the Democrats did. The Democrats established disturbing precedents that now need to be turned on them. What people fear about Kevin McCarthy is that he lacks the will to do just that.
