They don’t need to drop the charges. The ‘crimes’ would have been committed in the District of Columbia where trials will have to be held—in front of D.C. jurors. If DOJ thinks they can pull this off while avoiding a real ‘insurrection’ they will.

Exactly why it was foolish to hold his rally in DC. I could name 20 cities that made more sense for a rally, most of them in the South, but not all. If he’d held it in Wyoming, there would have been no antifa riots, no Dem manipulation, no DC jail holding Trump supporters in solitary confinement, no deep state shenanigans, no phones talk about “insurrection”.
