Washington — The House Jan. 6 committee is holding what is expected to be its final meeting on Monday, when members will vote on formally adopting the committee's final report and possible criminal referrals to the Justice Department.
The proceedings mark the culmination of the panel's nearly 18-month-long investigation into the attack on the U.S. Capitol, which featured testimony from dozens of witnesses and a series of high-profile hearings that examined the assault and former President Donald Trump's role in stoking his supporters to storm the building.
The committee is expected to make criminal referrals to the Justice Department for potential prosecution, although the members have not confirmed who they will refer.
Referrals by Congress are solely recommendations, and the Justice Department is under no obligation to bring charges against those referred for prosecution. Still, the committee's referrals could increase political pressure on the department to act, and lawmakers could unveil new evidence in their final report that federal prosecutors have not yet accessed.

Let me guess, unanimous for all allegations against DJT and each of his supporters. Then immediate indictments by Biden/Biden puppeteer/DOJ. After indictments, two year investigation through 2024 elections. Then, possibly, all charges dropped.

If Trump had held his rally in Orlando or El Paso or Boise, there wouldn’t be a Jan 6 committee and Liz Cheney would have nothing to keep her relevant
But FOOLISHLY, Trump held the rally on the home turf of Pelosi, Wray, Schumer, the dee state and East Coast antifa. By doing so, he put his supporters at risk and gave ammunition to his enemies that they’ll be firing at him - and all MAGA supporters - for years without end

Couldn’t Trump forsee the potential for a set up when somebody said, “let’s have our rally in DC!” ? He should have answered, “and allow antifa to hijack it and frame us? what a stupid idea! to protect our supporters, we’ll hold it in El Paso”

Part of me doesn’t feel sympathy for Trump. He chose to hold a rally in a town owned lock stock and Harrell by Dems and Deep State, where antifa has a history of terrorizing Trump supporters. He should have seen the possibility that he and his supporters would be set up - and could even have their lives ruined, like the folks languishing innDC jail
