9° F forecast for N Central Texas this Friday. We won’t be above freezing until Christmas Day.
That hasn’t happened since 1983 when we had our record cold snap.

It looks like the Climate Change period is over. People are finally getting their WHITE Christmases back. Part of the MAGA agenda. The gloomy “happy holidays” are over.

Forecast temps in the high teens/low 20’s this coming weekend where I am in Florida..(about an hour west of Gainesville)..

I remember that year. I was hosting and had to go pick up my mother at her nursing home about 45 miles away Christmas Eve day. Had a snow fall and the blowing snow was crazy bad. I called and said I would come on Christmas morning early. It was well below zero.

Hope your pipes don’t freeze. I have older construction, and surprisingly, the Feb 2021 freeze didn't hurt any of my plumbing, even without home heat.
I'm well stocked on faucet covers.

The way they tell us the forecast, you’d think that no one was alive back in 1983, that these temps have never happened before.

By my calculations, 5 hours west of Gainesville would put you in the Gulf of Mexico..

We got a triple whammy out of that 1983 event. Brother got an old fireplace going, but we didn’t think to have the fire department check it first. Caught the basement ceiling on fire and we got run out of our home at 1:00 am in 7° temps. Luckily, mostly only smoke damage, but Christmas was spent at the downtown FW Hyatt Regency before we rented the vacant house next door until renovations could be completed. Wasn’t a fun year.

It’s going to be below zero for the middle of the week in northern Colorado, but Christmas should be back to the 30s or 40s. No snow.
