Texas border cities plan for cold, busy end to Title 42

Texas border cities were preparing Sunday for a surge of as many as 5,000 new migrants a day across the U.S.-Mexico border as pandemic-era immigration restrictions expire this week, setting in motion plans for providing emergency housing, food and other essentials.

El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego told The Associated Press the region, home to one of the busiest border crossings in the country, was coordinating housing and relocation efforts with NGOs and other cities, as well as calling on the state and federal government for humanitarian help as they prepare for an onslaught of new arrivals once public health rule Title 42 ends on Wednesday.

The rule has been used to deter more than 2.5 million migrants from crossing since March 2020.

Temperatures in the region were set to drop below freezing this week, and on Sunday people wrapped in Red Cross blankets were seen walking near the airport.

On Saturday, El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser issued a state of emergency declaration allowing the Texas border city access to additional local and state resources for building shelters and other urgently needed aid.

It gets very cold this time of year in many border areas. This could turn in to a major catastrophe and the Feds are ignoring the plight of the border cities.

There is a reason ROME had legions on the Rhine. We have none on the Rio Grande.
Wonder if FDR, in 1942, would have allowed a million Germans or Japanese to come across that river.

Romans also founded the oldest city in Germany, Trier, on the Mosel River. Remnants of the Porta Nigra exist over 2000 years later.

Either of you know of any good books on the history of the Roman Empire? I know thousands exist but I want one that is as accurate as possible. Thanks.

“This could turn in to a major catastrophe”

NBC Nightly News with Lessie Holt, America’s Anchorman, has been reporting on this for the last few nights.

They portray a serious problem but make no mention of the cause which is the Biden Administration, and I must add, also the apathy of too many American.

Actually, the lamestream media has been blaming this all on the Republicans. Some hack did an interview with the Gov of TX saying this was all the GOP's fault.

The feds are ignoring the border cities and ignoring who is coming across our border. But don’t you dare try to get on an airplane with a bottle of water.
