A 16,000-ballot discrepancy in Arizona? Another chip falls for Kari Lake
American Thinker ^ | 12/18/2022 | Monica Showalter

Fresh from a court victory granting her the right to examine a random sample of Arizona's ballots from its skeezy midterm election, Kari Lake has managed to notch another advance in her quest to halt the obviously fraudulent election of her Democrat rival, Katie Hobbs.

According to Just The News, citing the results of a public records request from America First Legal Foundation:

Recently disclosed internal communications between top election officials in Arizona's Maricopa County in the immediate aftermath of Election Day reveal that they struggled to reconcile a discrepancy of almost 16,000 in outstanding ballot totals.

...

Prior to a Maricopa County press conference with Board of Supervisors Chair Bill Gates and Recorder Stephen Richer on Nov. 10, Richer sent an email to Elections Director Scott Jarrett, Gates and others about a significant discrepancy between the county's estimated remaining ballot totals and the number reported by the secretary of state's office.

...

"Unable to currently reconcile SOS listing with our estimates from yesterday," Richer wrote, showing that Maricopa County estimated having 392,000 ballots left to be counted, while the secretary of state's website said there were 407,664 ballots left.

"So there's a 15,000 difference somewhere," Richer said, although the discrepancy cited was closer to 16,000.

The recorder's office did not provide comment on the ballot discrepancy by publication deadline.

Who is Richer? It's a significant question because Richer is nominally a Republican, who ran for the recorder's office and won on an electoral integrity platform in 2020.

According to research by Mollie Hemingway at the Federalist, he went bad fast, illegally campaigning on government time and dime and resources on a ballot measure to prohibit voter I.D., a very strange thing for an electoral integrity guy, as well as this list of horrible stuff:

Upon election to the county recorder seat, however, Richer abruptly and completely rejected his previous rhetoric and claims, even defending the integrity of Fontes, the man he said was so important to defeat. He now uses his perch as an opportunity to regularly defend the Democrat-run 2020 election in Maricopa County, write op-eds at CNN against the type of election audits he conducted to gain power, draft lengthy screeds lambasting Republican leaders and voters for their election integrity concerns, and push ranked-choice voting and other efforts critics say are disastrous for voter confidence in elections.

He even set up a Democrat-funded political action committee to support Arizona candidates who share his views, a move strongly rejected as unethical by ethical election officials. The Republican National Committee and Republican Party of Arizona just sued him for packing polls with Democrat workers and seeking to bury the paper trail.

He sounds like a nightmare. So it's interesting that he discovered a ballot discrepancy, and now is keeping quiet about it, not answering any questions from JustTheNews.

If these vote-count and statistical anomalies occurred in black districts, according to present DOJ civil rights rules and precedent on statistical and circumstantial evidence - they would EASILY have brought a fraud/voter suppression case against Arizona already.

Every precint sould be required to state how many ballots they have collected shortly after polls close, with no additions to be made to that number, except under the most exceptional circumstances that all concerned parties consent to.

No offense, but US elections have always had a bit of...rowdiness, more so in the 1800s, sure, but the Dems are simply reviving an old tradition.

It’s a bad idea to involve the courts in this, like it was interpreting a poorly-drafted contract or a real estate dispute.

This is a street fight. The Democrats are winning, the Republicans aren’t even fighting.

If you can’t beat ‘em in the streets, you won’t be beating them in a courtroom.

Politics ain’t beanbag.

I wonder which is deadlier to Americans. The Chinese Flu or the banana republic “voting” system made possible by the Chinese Flu.

Democrats could have stolen NOTHING in 2020 and 2022 without the complicity of RINOs.

The only way we get our country back is to vote out RINOs in the state legislatures every two years and replace them with MAGA. We made a good start this year, but it will take multiple cycles.

It’s not the evidence that’s before everybody’s eyes that’ll seal her fate but the corrupt judges who will dismiss everything her lawyers present to them. They’ll just rule her evidence as “without standing”. Mark it!

Ought to be in state laws...that any county which has to disqualify 2-percent or more of the ballots as unreadable...terminates the results and requires a whole new election.

Why is this difficult? Match every ballot against the Arizona resident database. Each vote crosses out a name. You will either run out of ballots or names. When you have more ballots than names, you remove that vote from each candidate’s count.

Now you can investigate. Duplicate names, names of dead people, or just fraudulent ballots are criminal. Find out who ran the op and prosecute as a seditious act.

Ballots are not connected to names.

The database has a lot of people on it who are ineligible to vote.

That is why it is "so difficult".

“Politics ain’t beanbag.“

Maybe it should be. In fact, it would be a very good idea to let the “bean counters” run elections from now on.

Just as financial accounting has nothing to do with the fierce competition in the private sector, election accounting should have nothing whatsoever to do with cut-throat politics.

Private sector corporations must submit to thorough annual audits to assure investors and creditors that they followed generally accepted accounting practices, and that their financial statements are fairly stated.

If GAAP standards aren’t sufficiently met, the CPA firm won’t certify. Executives get fired and/or go to jail. Loans get called. Businesses fold.

The fact that elections are not held to the same standard is totally absurd. “Certifying” the results of unaudited elections is not certification - it’s rubber-stamping - and it is criminal.

Elections should be run by the big 5 accounting firms - not by corrupt and conflicted politicians and bureaucrats who have a stake in the outcome.

I was a CPA and I can tell you, running a clean election would be a piece of cake compared to running a typical financial audit. It would be so simple the big 5 accounting firms would be happy do it pro bono.

Elections are not rocket science. The only reason our elections are complicated is because the cheaters want it that way. Period.

Much ado about nothing...nothing will change, nothing will be done...

If people really want change then get off your butts, off the internet and get involved locally in your political scene. Find candidates to support, stop looking for ideologically pure candidates (humans are flawed...get over it), recruit younger people to run for office. Frame your positions such that they will at least get people talking and tell the proud boy types to get lost...they ain’t helping anybody.

“ Ballots are not connected to names.”

So, theoretically I can print up 100,000 ballots, give them to a buddy in the system and they run it through. Is that what is being done?
