Gunman? -- for this high school, named for a Mexican president and which celebrates Mexican and not U.S. culture, it was a "pistolero."

Here's the school's "performance profile" from USNews rankings:

Took at Least One AP® Exam: 24%
Passed at Least One AP® Exam: 1%
Mathematics Proficiency: 3%
Reading Proficiency: 9%
Science Proficiency: 10%
Graduation Rate: 85%

To fix our high schools we need to match those proficiency numbers with the graduation rates. Until then, all we have are holding pens for society's dregs.

But, heh, it’s better than a nearby school, “Chicago Technology Academy,” with a scorecard reading:

Mathematics Proficiency: 0%
Reading Proficiency: 4%
Science Proficiency: 2%
Graduation Rate: 100%

And here for Benito Juarez: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/illinois/districts/chicago-public-schools/juarez-community-academy-high-school-6554
