Russians are trying to “break the will of the people” as they attack infrastructure in the country, former senior military intelligence and security officer, Philip Ingram, has said.
Earlier today, Russia fired missiles at Ukraine in one of its biggest attacks since the start of the war, knocking out power in the second biggest city and forcing Kyiv to bring in emergency blackouts nationwide.

Speaking on the latest attacks on Ukraine, Mr Ingram said: “They’re attacking the critical national infrastructure.

“They’re trying to break the will of the people and there have been missile attacks over the last few nights using cruise missiles and using the Iranian-supplied kamikaze drones we’ve heard so much about.”

Asked about the impact on the cities, the military expert said: “It’s attacking centres of civilian population. It’s attacking living accommodation, it’s attacking areas of power infrastructure and water infrastructure and it’s causing huge devastation.”
He went on to describe the attacks as “horrific”, adding: “This in itself is a war crime.”
