I was 6 years old in my first grade classroom when my teacher answered a call on the phone connected to the school office. I can still remember vividly her starting to cry, then telling us school was cancelled for the rest of the day (we were in California) and that we could go home and why. It was my dad’s birthday and my little mind wondered why it couldn’t have been another day. But for an adult at the time to not remember is unbelievable. As an adult when 9/11 happened I remember that whole morning.
