The major source for attacks on the Warren Report is the 1966 bestseller “Rush to Judgement” by Mark Lane.

Mark Lane was a lawyer with the National Lawyers Guild, the Guild being a thinly disguised Communist front group dating back to the 1930s.

The Left naturally didn’t want America blaming one of their own for Kennedy’s murder so Lane’s book has everyone but Oswald guilty of the assassination. Lane even absolves Oswald of killing Officer Tippit despite the eyewitnesses to that one.

It’s actually amusing how many conservatives manage to be diehard defenders of Mark Lane’s propaganda effort. I don’t think any of them ever bother to read the actual evidence in the Warren Report. Kudos to that old commie.

Yes, it has occurred to me it is awfully telling on just “who” has wanted so desperately to divert attention away from Oswald, it is painfully transparent.

One of the pics of Oswald under arrest shows him with a smirk on his face and displaying a raised clenched fist, the commie salute. Some “patsy” indeed. Say what you want about Jack Ruby, he did manage to wipe that smirk off Oswald’s face, didn’t he?

Mark Lane was an interesting character. Clearly he was a man of the Left, but he represented Liberty Lobby, a rightist organization that was anti-Semitic (Holocaust denial, Jews control everything, etc.). (Lane was of Jewish ancestry.) He represented the People's Temple, a cult founded by Jim Jones, a minister turned leftist activist. Lane was reportedly present when the members of the cult committed mass suicide. Wikipedia reports that a former KGB officer, Vasili Mitrokhin, said that the KGB helped fund Lane's research that led to the book, Rush to Judgment.

The Soviets were not unaware of the American conservative movement. Lane representing Liberty Lobby may have been an attempt to influence a mid-20th Century version of the alt Right. The Russians appear to have intensified this effort. Evidence is the number of posters on FR discussing the Russian-Ukrainian War that defend the Russian invasion, seeing Putin as a fierce opponent of Western decadence.
