Conservatives Respond To Trump’s ‘Major Announcement’: ‘I Supported Trump For Years But This Is Ridiculous’

Former President Donald Trump revealed Thursday that the “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT” that he teased earlier in the week — which some of his supporters thought could be anything ranging from his announcing a bid for House Speaker to announcing who he would want to be his VP pick should he win the GOP primary — was a series of digital trading cards. “I’m doing my first official Donald J. Trump NFT collection right here and right now; they’re called Trump Digital Trading Cards,” Trump said in a promotional video. “Here’s one of the best parts: Each card comes with an automatic chance to win amazing prizes like dinner with me. I don’t know if that’s an amazing prize, but it’s what we have.” Trump said that if you buy one of his digital trading cards, you will “join a very exclusive community.” The problem with NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which are pieces of digital art that are supposed to be unique, is that NFTs have collapsed in value in recent months in large part due to cryptocurrencies taking a massive hit over the last year, a trend that has been accelerated by the collapse of FTX. Compounding those problems were the designs of Trump’s digital cards, which many of his own supporters criticized. His supporters, and others, also criticized the overall decision to launch the initiative. The following are some notable responses from conservatives: Jesse Kelly, radio host: “Trump teasing a ‘major announcement’ and then labeling his NFT ‘major announcement’ only to have his hardcore fans act like that wasn’t the real announcement is the perfect example what this thing has become. That wasn’t the ‘big’ announcement. It was his discussion about free speech that came later.

Maybe he'd like folks to think that now, but that's clearly not what happened. The "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT" he pimped yesterday also said that we all need a superhero, and then his NFT tweet today actually used the exact same MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT phrase, including all caps.

Especially with all the delays. And I love the fact that they said that if someone wanted to leave one precinct to go somewhere else, they had to advise the poll workers what they were doing.

What amazes me the most is, Arizona is no sh*t on the front lines. It is a section of Normandy. They amount of 3rd world refuse that is going to pour over that border will be insane.

However, there were three political experts who actually served in the Trump administration, and who are still known as some of his strongest supporters, being Steve Bannon, Steve Cortes, and Sebastian Gorka who appeared together on Bannon’s afternoon show today.

They all agreed that not only was this a botched rollout, but even the original decision to even create these NFT’s , was a terrible mistake.

Steve Bannon said “Thankfully they have two years to recover from this, but only if they replace EVERYONE who had anything to do with this decision.”

“Fire EVERYONE at Mar-a-lago” added Cortes.

To wrap up the segment Bannon questioned “You know, I wonder if the guys at the DOJ trying to take down Trump see this as amateur hour, and have no fear about going after him now. He better get some better people around him starting tomorrow.”

Those quotes are approximate, but close to exactly what they said. I think they summed it up well.
