It seems that every few years the issue of Puerto Rico statehood or Independence is discussed.

Haven’t they had numerous referendums over the past few decades on this very subject?

Whatever the case it seems like there’s no strong consensus to make any changes.

The obvious solution is to make AOC the Czarina of Puerto Rico and spin it off to either Cuba or Venezuela.

Every time Puerto Rico has voted about this issue for the past 50 years, the vote is always 50 - 50 and that is the truth. Most Puerto Ricans realize that the status quo is the best option. They certainly do not want statehood because of all of the baggage which goes with it. The communists are the ones seeking independence from us.
