Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, settled a pair of lawsuits Monday against the city of Louisville, according to his attorneys.
The city said it will pay $2 million per the settlements filed in federal and state court, according to Walker attorney Steve Romines, CBS News reported Tuesday:
Walker and Taylor were settled in bed for the night when they were roused by banging on her apartment door around midnight on March 13, 2020. Police were outside with a drug warrant, and they used a battering ram to knock down the door. Walker fired a single shot from a handgun, striking Sgt. John Mattingly in the leg. Mattingly and two other officers then opened fire, killing Taylor.
Following the shooting, establishment media claimed officers entered the woman’s apartment without knocking or announcing themselves. However, in Mattingly’s book, 12 Seconds in the Dark: A Police Officer’s Firsthand Account of the Breonna Taylor Raid, he informs readers it was a “knock and announce” warrant, Breitbart News reported in March.

The POS used her as a human shield.
Apparently, the city council is "woke" .
Shoot a cop, get $2 million. Protest an obviously rigged election, rot in prison for years without a trial. Great country we live in.
Did the police executing the warrant find what or who they were looking for per the warrant?
Did the police have to execute the warrant at midnight, instead of during the daytime?
Did the police have to use a ram to open the door?
And finally, is there bodycam video of the entry and shooting?
Walker may be a POS, but there's enough blame to spread around.
What is Sharpton’s cut?
This should have been the end of it right there.
Let me guess: Sgt. John Mattingly got a reprimand and reduction in rank.
I think time must play a part here as well.
If the police made it very clear that they were the police before entering, that would be one thing. But if they yelled “police” the instant before hitting the door, that would be another thing.
Heck, if I were asleep and I heard a yell just before my front door was breached, I’d go for my gun, too.
Side note to the ATF: I’m speaking hypothetically here. All my guns were lost in a cliched yet tragic boating accident.
Crack party at K-Walk’s tonite!
How much did Breonna get?
My BIL was a cop in the 70’s. Said they would whisper “Police” and smash the door down.
Dirty cops all over the force. Family owned a donut shop and my mom told stories about the conversations the cops had, about shooting teenagers when they scared them into running (fantasies, fortunately, for the most part)
The bullies my brothers went to school with wound up being cops. Had the right personalities for the job.
Yes most cops are good, but the bad cops become a cancerous growth if not removed. I’m nearly 70 and have seen it all.
He should have been awarded $2 worth of lead.
