There were a lot of plantations in Boston! As well as the rest of Massachusetts! Bilk them all!
The people who had slaves are dead. Their guilt was not passed on through the genes. The guilt did not find a way to mysteriously jump from the slaveholders to the grandkids of people who immigrated into this country in the late 1800s.
The dems know that national reparations won’t happen, so they’re implementing it in far left states.
What’s the end game in all this? Total collapse of the USA, which is what they have been wanting for a long time, and its replacement by a totalitarian dictatorship.
Good luck trying to trace the lineage of everyone accurately. It is very likely that the overwhelming majority of black Americans are NOT descended from slaves in the US and are descended from people who emigrated here by choice.
What to do in those cases? Just give everyone a check for being black and come up with some "catchall" rationale to do so?
IMO the democrat party, and their supporters should be the ones on the hook for reparations.
Someone in Mass can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe its first state constitution outlawed slavery in the state. Also, as I recall, John Adams even before succeeding to the Vice Presidency had a black friend who managed his farm when he was in Europe on assignment.
Should this cockamamie move succeed I believe it should be put to a national vote to decide if Blacks should be returned to slavery.
Reparations should only be paid to those producing a valid Slave I.D., from the state where they were enslaved.
Anyone, black or White, not collecting said reparations, should be on the paying side.
Southie will LOVE this....I am so embarrassed to have to admit I was raised in Massachusetts, what makes it worse is I was born in California! Ironically my first vote for President while residing in East Bridgewater Massachusetts was for Reagan...never have I voted for someone who I thought was not a conservative. Mass. has been lost for a long long time.
