I don’t know the stats but at one point it was being reported that urban minorities were the number 1 group not getting the vax.

Where are the traffic accident stats highest?

Just asking. I dont know.

This seems like a HUUUUUUGE stretch to imply being a cause-and-effect relationship between the vax and accidents. There can be a million coexisting statistics between them

Urban minorities often don’t own cars. Keeps their driving rates down. Also, this is a Canadian study, where the demographics are quite different.

I imagine, also, that those who declined the shot tend to be younger, and young people tend to drive more recklessly. There is no indication that the study accounted for confounding variables like that. But they do seem to have gotten the conclusion that they were seeking.

One can look for a common cause to explain correlation.

The highest vaxxed age group is likely retirees, who may or may not have a lower traffic accident rate—for every awful senior citizen driver out there, there are likely two or three who have given up their licenses or no longer even own a car.

I imagine that the unvaxxed are a combination of people willing to take risks and people who are very conservative—I would describe myself as both, in different ways.

They also are not, I think, the sorts of people who stay locked up at home.

The data point is interesting, but more digging is needed to explain what is going on.

“I don’t know the stats but at one point it was being reported that urban minorities were the number 1 group not getting the vax.”

This is supposedly Canadian Data. Isn’t the main minority in Canada, white conservatives.

The statement below may offer some clues to this B$ posing as data:

‘Of course, skipping a COVID vaccine does not mean that someone will get into a car crash. Instead, the authors theorize that people who resist public health recommendations might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”’

Like not wearing seat/should belts while driving!

The older a person is the more likely they are to be vaccinated by a large margin. Older Americans drive fewer miles by a large margin. Older Americans also have fewer accidents per mile.
