No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.
Definitely no government subsidies or tax breaks. No 501c or other IRS non-profit status.
This means no commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam. No third-parties -- not even the IRS -- trying to control what we do or say.
We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of God, family, country, liberty!!

I posted an article yesterday morning on Dick Van Dyke’s 97th birthday. A lot of Freepers responded to it with good memories of him in great tv and movies, including Disney’s Mary Poppins.
But a moderator posted to me “stop abusing the forum”. What??? How was I “abusing the forum”???!
Why did I deserve that slap in the face for posting about a beloved entertainer? I notice later today someone posted about “ Christmas carol” movies, with no sniping from any moderator , so it seems you guys are very unpredictable and arbitrary in your surliness.
You can run things on your private forum as you like, but as a target of unjustified venom, I definitely won’t be able to donate
Hey, I get slapped occasionally. I think that we all do. After 25+ years here, it can happen.
Keep in mind that I am NOT a moderator nor am I part of the ownership of this website.
I donate because I get news and information from Free Republic - and it is the FIRST place that I look for breaking news and opinions.
I probably refresh this site 20 times daily. I certainly respond more quickly here than I do anywhere else, including email and texts from my spouse (j/k).
Brush it off. Keep the Christmas spirit. Don’t post from certain blogs (will keep some folks happy). Or ignore it all and post it again.
Keep in mind that the moderators are volunteers not The Voice of G_d. Things happen and all that. Learn to forgive.
