And if republicans run anyone other than Trump they absolutely won’t win. I have voted in every single election since the 60s but I’m done voting for establishment picks. And yes, DeSantis is establishment or Ryan wouldn’t be out there pushing him like a drug peddler

Ryan is a small government conservative whose entire focus was on trying to reduce federal spending, and entitlement programs in particular. He managed to push through the House a crippling amendment to ObamaCare that failed only because of McCain in the Senate.
Ryan may not be a MAGA Republican, but he also is very far from wanting to keep socialists in power. He's supporting DeSantis because he thinks DeSantis is the most conservative Republican who can win in 2024.
