A police dispatcher who took a call from a woman ostensibly trying to order a pizza realized that the caller was surreptitiously alerting her that she was in danger of domestic violence, and by playing along, enabled officers to rush to the rescue within minutes, Israel Police said Thursday.

I’d appreciate it if you cooked the pepperoni dead.
One night after leaving from work I was being followed. So I drove right to the State Police Barracks! Needless saying it worked. They backed off once I hit the driveway.
5 year old story.
There was a monitored security system in my last appartment. They would call if there was an alarm. You choose a key word when you activated the system, like strawberry. Unless you used the key word when they called they assumed you were being threatended and under duress. The police were dispatched.
Example: suppose an accidental activation. A real live security person called. “this is agent smith at xyz security.” If you responded with strawberry. They would ask if you were ok and if you answered yes, then the call was over. If you said anything but ‘strawberries’ then would say ok, we’re glad your Ok and hang up. The difference was this time they sent the cops.
?
Still a good story and lesson today.
Smart, but I suspect in her next life she won’t be marrying a Palestinian.
Completely different outcome if the the person wgo answered the call said “ain’t nobody got time for this shit”.
Western woman marrying Muslims often ends poorly for the woman.
I read a similar story years ago about a woman being followed by a stranger or group in a vehicle.
The story said she didn’t know what to do, but then asked herself what Jim Rockford would do - then drove directly to the police station.
The article is from December 8th.
Rockford would do a 180 degree bootleg turn.
I and others practiced that maneuver in the ‘70s.
That’s a great way to do it. Thanks for the post.
It's also in Israel. Almost the same scenario happened in Ohio a few years ago.
Ohio woman who called 911 for pizza was really reporting domestic violence against her mom
if you bothered to read the story instead of rushing to criticize you would realize your error
Sorry, I thought this was the Ohio story. :-)
Rockford’s car had left and right brake pedals enabling those clean 180 maneuvers - those were specially built stunt cars.
“Yes, Olives and corn ?”
MAY be current-—and a repeat of quick thinking.
