Direct taxpayer subsidies for EVs have cost $10 billion to date. The U.S. government also just approved spending an additional $7.5 billion on EV charging stations.
The subsidy math shows: $10 billion + $7.5 billion = $17.5 billion. Divide that into the 750 million gallons (.750 billion gallons - BG) reportedly saved based on the Argonne Lab study and we get .750 BG/$17.5 billion = $23.3 dollars per gallon.
The verdict is: thanks to government EV subsidies, we’re spending $23 for each gallon of gasoline saved.
Who knew government could finagle such a great deal?
God’s Laws of Thermodynamics will not be repealed.................
The “solutions” are impossible in addition to the fact that the “problem” DOES NOT EXIST!
I’m in electrical distribution.
I have work until far beyond my death.(40’s)
Aside from the staggering amount of work electrically,
how many Americans live in apartments or are street side parking?
Where are they all plugging in?
I would live in the woods and forage/hunt before I move into a city and ride public transportation with DeQuarious Jenkins et al…
But you don’t have to actually do it, talking about it gets you elected.
.
Nonsense.
All that is needed is the extermination of the human race.
And the subhuman demonic elitist scum are working double-overtime on that one...
As anyone can easily see.
the problem and solution
increases govt control
so it is all good
climate control
pretend to control the climate in order to control you
it depends on how you define ‘the problem’. For democrats ‘the problem’ is the supremacy of the american socio-economic model. The free market is the most powerful force for the empowerment of the individual that ever existed in history. The democrats have sold their souls to destroy it. The question of why is a whole another topic. But the solution to the democrats problem is the ‘all electric economy’. That will destroy and collapse the infrastructure for success so it can be replaced. It will be replaced by government controlled rationing of goods and services under cover of ‘climate crisis’. It’s the old joke... What did democrats use before candles? Electricity.
So for democrats, the all electric, net zero, climate crisis economy is a great success. It cannot be installed quickly enough.
“Transitioning to a “net-zero” all-electric economy by 2050 is economically, physically, and politically impossible” That doesn’t mean THEY won’t do it. Since it appears not a lot of folks WANT evs, the (b)administration is helping all the major auto companies shift to all evs making it impossible to choose a new ICE vehicle in the future. And, recently there was a piece (maybe on here) how dodge is presenting the new ev charger with a simulated exhuast system to give you the feel of an ICE vehicle. Fidiots. Just ain’t the same as a 3/4 cam ICE lopping along at idle through open headers. I believe that’s called visceral.
Surprisingly, the latest complete carbon footprint calculations show EV’s with a slightly larger carbon footprint than ICE vehicles. But - hybrids had a total footprint about 15% less than either.
This calculation used extended range EV’s because they have more carbon intensive Lithium batteries. Short range EV’s and electric golf carts have a smaller footprint.
Doesn’t matter how irrational the meme is. The objective is the destruction of Western Civilization, by any means necessary.
Just another bunch of Psychopaths trying to control the world , WWI and WWII were not enough
yep
It’s all about the DemonRat SLUSH FUNDS.
1.7% of vehicles on the road today are hybrid but, they came up some nonsense number that saved somewhere around 1/4 the gasoline consumed?
That is just complete nonsense

I tell this to fellow EV owners all the time. There are many reasons a person might want an EV, even in a free market with no government compulsion on car production and car purchases. But talking like EV’s save the environment is a bunch of hogwash.
So, can you share with us your reasons for owning an EV?
