I feel bad for Paul Whelan. Imagine what that guy must be thinking when a U.S. Marine has to see a notorious arms dealer exchanged for an America hating dyke who out of arrogance or ignorance took contraband into another country with zero regard for their laws.

My take is how the utter hacks in the media PRETEND to care that “black lives matter”....and then a guy who has killed thousands of blacks is set free, they couldn’t care less.

I agree that Whelan should have been a higher priority and Griner was stupid to go to Russia in the first place, but she was still a hostage. Russia is not Singapore. Their drug laws are rather relaxed. 10 years for $20 worth of weed is not anywhere near the standard practice there.

They gave her this extraordinary sentence because they wanted an American hostage. She was perfect for the role because Russians wanted this hostage to be ugly and unlikable.

Biden is stupid because paying for hostages encourages more hostage taking.

On 15 May 1995 Sudan sent a wire to Carney informing the Ambassador that his government was allowing Osama Bin Laden to depart the Sudan. The Saudi and his family left Khartoum on 18 May in a chartered plane flown by a Russian pilot.
It landed at Sharjah (from where the notorious Victor Bout operated a fleet of planes), and the next day Bin Laden continued on to Jalalabad. In Afghanistan, Bin Laden was the honored guest of Yunis Khalis, the Hizb-i-Islami leader, and a mujahideen commander whom he knew quite well. Khalis, the Pakistan ISI’s man in Afghanistan, was reported to have been in Khartoum earlier in the year and offered Bin Laden asylum in Afghanistan, if such he wanted. By then there was no decent alternative for Bin Laden.
