This is a common request when documents have been subpoenaed from a nonparty and they are producing them. It's just for convenience to help lay a foundation for their introduction into evidence at a future hearing. I am not aware of any legal obligation to sign them. We just do it to keep the government off our client's back.

But, demanding an attestation as to what the government seized in a raid? Never heard of such a thing. I don't think I would let my client sign one.

I would never let a client sign one either unless they were present there during the search watching and actually saw every single thing they took and could remember it all. Which would basically never happen unless it was maybe only 1 to 4 items taken

They don’t appear to be demanding an attestation as to what was already seized. They appear to be demanding an attestation that Trump no longer possesses any classified materials.
