We can that Mitch McTurtle for the disappointing "Red-Wave" in November and the pre4sent state of affairs.
In an effort to discredit and weaken president Trump's influence McTurtle made sure that Trump-backed candidates in critical Senate and House races were starved of campaign funds so that they would lose to the democrats.
McTurtle cared more about damaging president Trump than stopping the democrat destruction of America. He's already got his ill-gotten fortune stuffed away in the bank so he doesn't give a damn about anyone else.

Good summation. If it were not for two elected positions, one senator and the president, they would have no say at all.

I am for an amendment that declares an end to lame duck sessions of Congress, by mandating that Congress is adjourned beginning the day after national elections until the first Monday in January following January 1st.
That would mean that Congress’ business ends on election day for any year in which federal elections are held. All Congressional business then is deferred to the new Congress.
Not happening.
