Somebody was overtly clever naming the Wateree Hydro Station.

At least there were multiple witnesses for the SC incident, which occurred during daylight hours--possibly near a shift change at the power plant.

CNN

Investigators – who have found nearly two dozen shell casings from a high-powered rifle – are zeroing in on two threads of possible motives centered around extremist behavior for the weekend assault on two North Carolina electric substations, according to law-enforcement sources briefed on the investigation.

The news comes as the primary utility company in Moore County restored electricity to the final customers of the 45,000 homes and businesses that initially lost power.

Officials on Wednesday also announced a total of $75,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Saturday’s attacks.

Lol! I was thinking the same when I heard about it on the radio in the car earlier this morning.

As I said on the other thread, the NC thing could be anyone from a few beer-guzzling Bubbas, a disgruntled former employee, a current employee needing overtime, some guy who’s ticked off after getting his power turned off for nonpayment or angry about higher bills, some climate activist kid.

Who knows? Maybe it was a female, y’all, a sort of cross between Greta Thunberg and Annie Oakley. Now there’s a scary thought!

“How dare you use electricity — you have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your toasters, your electric toothbrushes, and your flatscreens. People are dying!”
