The Declaration of Independence (DOI) is a declaration that individual rights of life, liberty, and free pursuits are birth rights given by God, not granted by man or his government.
The DOI is the foundation and presumption of the Constitution. The Constitution is the the Supreme Law of the Land and the ONLY source of power for the federal government which the Constitution itself created. Before the Constitution, there was no federal government, only a “Continental Congress”.
The Constitution ENUMERATES certain LIMITED POWERS DELEGATED by the states and the people. If it is NOT in the Constitution, it is NOT a legitimate federal power or activity. This is explained in the 9th and 10th Amendment.
