The Washington Post published a report Monday slamming Discovery Channel’s "Shark Week" programming for featuring too many White males as shark experts and continuing to peddle "negative messages" about sharks. The report highlighted a study done by the Public Library of Science led by Allegheny College biology professor Lisa Whitenack. The project observed that "Discovery’s programming emphasized negative messages about sharks, lacked useful messaging about shark conservation and overwhelmingly featured White men as experts — including several with the same name."

I don't watch Discovery Channel’s "Shark Week", but this is some of the dumbest crap I've read this week... so far. Everything is racist, to the racists.

I'm so disgusted with the constant racism coming out the colleges. The shark experts weren't on Shark Week to discuss race; they were there to discuss sharks. They said that sharks are violent. Sharks are unpredictable. Sharks are killers. That doesn't magically turn the predators into ghetto dwellers, but at least it's a start.

The solution is simple. Fifty percent of the white men on ‘Shark Week’ should immediately self-identity as minority females, and dress as such. Lipstick would be optional.

Black people always seem to be afraid of the water. They can’t swim. No harm meant. Just an observational fact. I would imagine that fact would go double for swimming with sharks. Go ahead. Axe one.
