Under direct threat of political imprisonment to county officials if they did not certify. The person who made the threat was the same person who counted the votes and was running for governor. How can this happen in the USA?

Who was going to put them in jail? Hobbs’ office would have to do an investigation and then turn the results over to the AG.
As SOS can just put people in prison? No due process? No trial? No nothing?
Why have a Governor, AG, sheriffs and police when the SOS can just do what they want?
