“ She had the surgery in 2020 and she is 32?
She was all grown up.”
Yes, but that shouldn’t let the doctor off the hook. Just because a nutcase asks him to mutilate her, doesn’t give him immunity for complying. What if she’d asked him to saw off both of her legs and drill a hole in her skull?
A partial lobotomy must be part of the procedure. These people are crazy.
“drill a hole in her skull”
Good point. If the medical profession was doing that, there’s no way they would get away with it.
Especially if they were putting an icepick in there and scrambling up perfectly good frontal lobes.
Oh, wait. Never mind.
“What if she’d asked him to saw off both of her legs...”
That happened to two men in England (one arm each). A mental condition where they viewed their perfectly good arm as not being part of their body.
Some doctor performed the operations. It wasn’t illegal at the time, but the doctor was told (or a new law?) that he couldn’t perform any more operations.
He had two more people scheduled for similar procedures. “I just want to provide them with the relief they are so desperately seeking.”
Probably just in it for the money.
He charges an arm and a leg.
Well, what if?
Apparently, its all ok! They had the opportunity to say no and did not. Why should they be sued now?
I recall a number of years ago, some deaf parents wanted a deaf child and some medico was right there to help...because, well...they WANTED it.
We are collectively insane.
That’s sort of my viewpoint. These people are mentally ill, and that needs to be taken into account. Mentally ill people are not competent to make decisions about having their bodies mutilated.
