Queens woman charged with driving through a Manhattan Black Lives Matter protest won’t plead guilty in the case — risking jail time to prove she slammed on the gas because she feared for her daughter’s life as an angry mob attacked her car, she said Thursday.
Kathleen Casillo, 52, had been Christmas shopping on Dec. 11 last year when she was caught in shocking video footage driving her black BMW sedan through the protest against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detentions in Midtown.
The video shows Casillo stopped at East 39th Street and Third Avenue with protesters in front of her car — seconds before she floors it, with people screaming and rushing to help those left crumpled on the ground.
Casillo — who was in the car with her 29-year-old daughter – told The Daily Mail protesters attacked her car and were ready to break her passenger side window and drag her daughter out of it.
“I feel sick,” Casillo told The Daily Mail. “I never intended on hurting anyone. I just feared for my daughter’s life more than anybody. I thought they were going to pull her out of the car.”
On Wednesday, she appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court for a hearing, where prosecutors said a guilty plea on two misdemeanors would likely have resulted in just six days’ community service and a year’s suspension of her license.
But Casillo is refusing to cop to charges of reckless assault and reckless endangerment.

Besides the BLM terrorists who blocked the woman’s car, the real enemies of the people of the United States are also the Manhattan Criminal Court prosecutors and judge.
If BLM’ers had gotten their hands on her, she would have been killed. I can just see the BLM women dragging this lady down the street by her long hair (that they are so jealous of).
They would have full on capitol R-Racist-’punished her’ for daring to be a well to do White Girl in their presence.
If this case goes before a NYC jury, this lady could be in deep doo doo.
If she felt her life as with her daughter’s was threatened, good for/on her.

I remember decades ago, when a huge truck rig made a wrong turn into a ghetto housing block near where I lived. The white guy got dragged out of the truck, beaten and killed. Of course, no riots.
I would run over a mob to keep my daughter safe. Better to be in trouble with the law than to see your family members get assaulted - or dead.
“Let the mob beat you or New York law will.”
Oh, her lawyer is part of jury selection, just as the DA is. Way-y-y-y-y more New Yorkers feel as this woman does.
New Yorkers see parades and their crowds 100 times a year, and they know what that crowd is like.
They surrounded her car and banged on the hood.
From the inside, she feared for her life.

The people in the street were a mob, not a "group of protestors".
This was the one and only time my socially perfect, trained PTSD dog ever "broke bad" on humans, because I assume he knew they were evil and dangerous.
Moments later, the horde dispersed, apparently deciding attacking us was not such a great idea, after all.
He was a hit with the Trump supporters and many loving pats were given.
We were going to leave after we were done but they asked us to stay a while, so we did.
I so love my good conservative dog who is an honorary FReeper.

I am praying for her. She and her daughter did nothing to deserve this; in fact, she did the right thing. Those mindless thugs were blocking the street and threatening her life. I hope she somehow prevails against a very corrupt leftist system.
