Not once the person leaves the store. Same with a home. You can shoot a thief in your home, but once the threat is over, you can’t.

That depends on the state. In Texas you can blast away under such conditions if they are stealing a large amount or say a horse. Blast away too for your neighbors stuff as well.

That may be true but it’s wrong. What happened to fearing for one’s life? There is still a the threat of the robbers returning and finishing you off. The dead guy’s mistake was shooting too late.
