... from working in that realm in a past life, it’s like a club (lawyers, judges, etc). If you take the ‘wrong’ case, it can result in bad rulings for ANY clients you have in the future - no matter how innocent they may be. And once word of that gets around, that shingle outside your office becomes worthless to clients who can pay, leaving you with those types of clients who can’t pay... do the math.
Winning said ‘wrong’ cases can be even worse.
