Better to be done in the United States, in the open, than in China, in secrecy.
There are simply too many advantages to this tech.
There is a strong possibility the same, or very similar, will be accomplished by a helmet type device.
I know there are potentially significant downsides (as there are with many developments in medicine/tech), but if I were paralyzed and/or blind I suspect I’d be strongly inclined to try it at some point.
