I know there are potentially significant downsides (as there are with many developments in medicine/tech), but if I were paralyzed and/or blind I suspect I’d be strongly inclined to try it at some point.

Transhumanism anyone? Wait for the DNA alteration on a mass scale. The covid jabs are for thinning the herd, the DNA changes will be a different animal and it will not be forgiven.

Will the day come where you can be hacked and taken over?

2 questions:
Is the study subsidized by the taxpayers? Like Tesla, where the taxpayers subsidizing the production can't necessarily afford or even want the product?

Will the process be covered by insurance/Medicare?

At the last Neuralink public update, Musk had unveiled a monkey who played a videogame by thinking alone, and manipulating his brain implant with his neurons directly.

It would be nice to play the piano by thinking the notes. Tedious moving my fat fingers on a keyboard. Same goes for computer keyboards - no more mistajes.

OMG! I never thought of that.
Imagine if I could simply think all of the songs rolling around in my melon and have them transferred onto my computer.
FL Studio is REALLY complex for such applications.

Have you ever heard of a hack proof network? The only way you won’t be hacked is to never connect to a network which defeats the purpose of this evil/Borg/Cylon nutbaggery.

Yo. Panic puppy.
Suppose you tell me...
... are people with pacemakers transhumans?
Cochlear implants?
Artificial hearts?
Implant-controlled prosthetic limbs?

Where’s this ‘transhuman’ line drawn, anyway?
And why are you so spooked?

Look again at our voters and our leaders. That day arrived a few years ago.

There are networks where you do not connect to them. They connect to you. They used to call those a “call back” connection. Standard communications protocols were not used. Those never got hacked. Young ones today do not know how to write private protocols.
