Protection of a Baby's Life keeps winning in Texas. Here's what other states can learn.

On November 28, the Dallas Morning News admitted that Texas Democrats didn’t get the support that they had anticipated during the 2022 midterm elections.

The Democratic Party has long been in the pocket of the abortion lobby, and no candidate more so than Beto O’Rourke. In the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, during these past midterms, Democratic candidates across the country had to decide whether to lean into the pro-abortion party line or attempt to sidestep this hot-button issue. In typical fashion, Beto went all in.

The return of abortion policy to the states allowed the Democratic Party to test its pro-abortion strategy like never before, and Beto was happy to oblige, running a largely abortion-focused campaign for Governor of Texas. Beto centered his campaign around the state’s conditional law, which outlawed nearly all abortions in Texas upon the overturn of Roe v. Wade. He even went so far as to say that this ban was “the most important thing” voters needed to know about Governor Greg Abbott.

But it wasn’t just talk; Beto ran campaign ads, sent fundraising emails, and gave stump speeches dripping with deceptive abortion messaging. He held a news conference to rail against the implementation of this conditional law. O'Rourke even brought former Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards on as the national finance chair of his campaign.

Though Beto led the charge, he wasn’t alone. As The Texas Tribune reported,

“Rochelle Garza, the Democratic nominee for attorney general, held her record as a reproductive rights attorney up against incumbent Ken Paxton’s staunch anti-abortion views. Down-ballot, more legislative candidates spoke more frankly and more often about abortion than ever before.”

The Democratic ticket in Texas would sink or swim on the abortion issue. They sank like a stone.

The Texas Tribune continued, “But statewide Democratic candidates lost, badly, on Tuesday, and the Legislature remains Republican-dominated.”

Beto O'Rourke got shellacked on Election Night. The Democratic nominee lost by a double-digit margin of 54.8% to 43.8%. Despite Beto's $75 million dollar campaign contribution advantage over Lupe Valdez, the 2018 Democratic candidate for Governor, he still managed to receive 7,000 fewer votes than Valdez.

On the other hand, Governor Abbott has been publicly supportive of the pro-life cause and followed through with legislative action, including signing the groundbreaking Texas Heartbeat Law into effect which, even before the overturn of Roe v. Wade, prohibited abortions in the state once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is typically at 5 to 6 weeks gestation. The pro-abortion lobby had a meltdown. But you know what didn’t happen? The sky didn’t fall in Texas. Women got the care they needed and babies' lives were saved.

And according to Dr. Michael New’s research at the Charlotte Lozier Institute where he analyzed newly published Texas birth data:

“between March 2022 and July 2022, the number of births in Texas increased by more than 5,000 as compared to identical time periods from previous years. This review of newly available state birth data provides a compelling indication that the Texas Heartbeat Act has already played a vital role in saving thousands of lives in the Lone Star state.”

Texas’ Alternatives to Abortion program was and still is the safety net to serve the needs of women and children in Texas, and other states have something to learn from Texas and implement their own safety nets in this post-Roe era. The Alternatives to Abortion program was both prophetic as well as overdue in the pro-life movement. It is funded by the state of Texas to the tune of $100 million, and in the new legislative session, we hope that this amount will only increase. The Texas Alternatives to Abortion program receives a federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant and state general revenue funds to support services for pregnant women, their families, and for adoptive parents. It works with over 300 pregnancy centers in Texas, social service providers, adoption agencies, and maternity homes to help women and families in need.

And it turns out that being pro-life and saving lives is a winning strategy in Texas.

Throughout the campaign, , Beto claimed that Texans were uniting in support of abortion. By that logic, not only would Abbott have gone down in defeat, but Texas Senator Bryan Hughes and Representative Shelby Slawson, who served as the Senate and House authors of the Texas Heartbeat Law, would have been thrown out by their constituents for authoring such legislation. And yet, both ran unopposed.

The Texas Democratic Party and, particularly, the man at the top of their ticket made abortion the priority, and they both failed miserably. Both sides can learn from the results. The life issue is strong in Texas and clearly won at the ballot box. Voters made it clear in Texas that they support life. In the new legislative session, we will be promoting more life-protective measures.

Texas continues to lead the way in a pro-life America.

I dread the day that it appears on ballots. I fear what the lib voters will do with that. And those on the fence.

I think we have seen what corrupt elections are doing on several areas...including abortion issues.

Can you excuse me whilst I scratch my head a minute? Did you read the same article I just did? It said Texas, which has elected many liberal Democrat governors over the years, to take one example, has stomped all over abortion at the polls as if it were an emply orange-juice carton.

I have to imagine we might learn a thing or two--besides quivering terror--from this victory and how to replicate the transferable elements elsewhere.

I think our idea is to win.

Abortion will appear on the ballot one day here in Texas. There will be a huge campaign to get people to the polls. And I’m sure there will be plenty of questionable antics in the counting of the votes.

Everybody wanted it returned to the states...so this is what you get. The people will decide and if they decide in a way others disagree with oh well. That’s how a free society works.

I would like to have seen the question put on the ballot in every state. Not the heavy handed “trigger laws” that a lot of states implemented. If the voters wanted to ban abortion then everybody should get a vote/voice in the decision...not just a bunch of politicians.

Despite many people claiming otherwise voters were turned off by the Republican led states that did what I mentioned above. And it probably cost us some votes and some seats in Congress.

And I’m sure there will be plenty of questionable antics in the counting of the votes.

And a study of this phenomenon is one of the key one or two factors that need to be studied and methodically addressed. The good thing is, not only were pro-life politicians recently elected, but their teams can be interviewed (by established pro-life activists only) to learn what worked best, and what worst.

Ballot security and the appropriate laws need to be studied at the same time. It would obviously be optimal if the newly elected pro-lifers and other Republicans studied up on the methods of fraud currently in use by the Democrats.

As a county election official in a different state, I can tell you that in the vast majority of reported cases, election theft is occurring when the custody of the ballots that have been cast falls into the hands of members of a single party. In most states, including my liberal one, any ballot that falls out of the joint custody of at least two competing parties' representatives, the ballot is deemed "spoiled," and immediately must be separated from the others to be destroyed. The videos we saw during the circus of the 2020 election make clear that custody of ballots was not maintained at all at the locations filmed. One person handling a ballot? Spoiled and marked accordingly to be analyzed later. Every step in every process has to be signed by a members of two competing parties, or the ballot in question is trash.

If this security is not possible to maintain in a precinct, the precinct needs to be closed and moved to a more competitive neighborhood--or election law is being intentionally broken. Sheriff time. There are obviously too many "D"s and not enough "R"s, and the temptation is too great. (Yes, the culture of theft is mainly "D," among the major parties, and it has been thus since Boss Tweed and before.)

I don't know what Texas laws are on this matter, but there exists no intrinsic right anywhere to at-will voting by mail or at a public box on the street without witnesses. These are insane ideas, from a security point of view, and intentionally so.

The problem is not only that it's impossible to establish that a duly eligible and registered voter in the precinct has cast a given "collection-box" ballot. It's whether the ballots' origins were even in this country, and whether each was filled out one at a time by a legal voter, or instead delivered from Red China (not an exaggeration, it happened in 2022) and filled out by rooms of hired Democrat "election workers" to create the number of Democratic votes needed to offset the Republican votes tallied in each race. Possibly days later--that's why Democratic victories take place so long after the polls close.

The core of the problem has been the sob-sister laws passed in many US states where if you apply for a driver's license, for example, whether you want to or not, you get registered to vote in that state. The (intended) result is that millions of voters in most states are on the voting rolls who don't even know they're registered, and aren't in the least interested in voting.

That's what the Democrats want. They look up the "motor-voter" records and other lists, such as nursing home mailing lists, for names of people unlikely to exercise their franchise, such as people who haven't voted in years. The Democrats gallantly hire people to exercise these people's right to vote in their stead. They do this on an industrial scale, right now, from sea to shining sea, and yes, it is treason. People need to go to jail or swing for it. And us? We're obligated to take our country back. Now. The methods of overturning insane voter registration laws must be studied, taught, and acted upon, for a start.

A public conversation that the Stalinists don't want to have about who benefits from laws making voter registration automatic or involuntary needs to fill the airwaves. And policing and spot inspections need to occur in random locations across states, and in particular, cities.

"RAY-cizm?" Make my day! You're darn right it's ray-cizm. The white Democrats are ordering ballots on behalf of blacks, old-folks, and other vulnerable people, taking delivery when the ballots arrive at their own offices, and depriving the oppressed people of their right to vote. Instead, specially hired white folks vote in their place in boiler rooms located around the cities.

This could be a lot of fun. Let's go!
