Air marshals facing mandatory border deployment plan ‘mutiny’ on Biden admin leaving flights unguarded: report

Deploying air marshals to border leaves US 'vulnerable to attack' during holiday travel season, official claims

U.S. air marshals are reportedly staging a "mutiny" on the Biden administration over its immigration policies, as they plan to refuse mandatory deployment orders to the southern border and, therefore, face possible termination.

Though refusing the order puts them at risk of termination, dozens of air marshals argue that abandoning their current assignments will leave American fliers more vulnerable to threats over the busy holiday travel season.

Amid an influx of illegal immigrants held in custody, the Federal Air Marshal Service asked for volunteers to deploy to the U.S.-Mexico border for 30 days in mid-2021. But earlier this month, the Biden administration announced air marshals, considered federal law enforcement agents within the Transportation Security Administration, would face mandatory deployments as the shortage of Border Patrol agents worsens.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner, David Londo, president of the Air Marshal National Council, said, "Rank and file air marshals are going to refuse to deploy and risk termination," as the Biden administration plan would strip 99% of commercial airline flights from federal protection.

Yeah, it’s tough to give up that first class seat to guard the border.

Fire them and hire someone who would appreciate the job, no matter where you had to do it.

This is more of a screw up on Biden than the Air Marshals not being used as pawns for Biden’s border F-up. I don’t blame the air marshals at all

I’m surprised they haven’t reached the point yet of re-deploying postal workers for the border situation.

Years ago I worked for Toll Brothers home builders.

I got to know one of the first home owners who moved into a Toll Brothers site I was working on.

Told me he was a sky marshal. Showed me his id.

I used to work five days a week, ot on Saturdays sometimes and I would always see this guy puttering around his house, doing his big lawn with a riding mower.

This guy was ALWAYS home, always on the ground.

He can send THEM to the border. They’re good at paperwork plus they’ll be armed.

Every time there is a dust up on a commercial flight it is sorted out by the passengers and crew. I don’t recall a single case of an air marshal subduing the perps.

Therefore, I am not certain that this increases my risk in a plane.

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if a 787 were to blow up 5 minutes after taking off from JFK or LAX!

“I don’t blame the air marshals at all”

Ditto. Border Patrol ees have been relegated to changing diapers for the illegal brats instead of doing what’s in their job descriptions. A LEO’s time is better spent on commercial flight. (IMO)

Exactly. Wouldn’t an Air Marshall (if they weren’t redirected to the border to hand out water and change diapers and give out free Obama phones at the border) have “quieted up” those 2 Amish frequent fliers right before Thanksgiving that were TIRED!!!! And didn’t check their bags and just boarded the plane and made the entire have to get off the plane? Plane without air marshals are going to have more probability of a 9/11 type of attack

As slow as the postal workers are (especially the AA hires) at the local post office , Biden would be better off just sending them to Mexico. They are the laziest and slowest employees I have ever seen. They wouldn’t last a day at a “fast food” Restaurant even as slow as Burger King
